A Vote for Hillary is a Vote Against Feminism

January 11th, 2008.

Yesterday, my brother told me he was hoping to vote for Hillary Clinton. When I asked him why, he responded, “I just want to vote for a woman president.”

Ugh. It seems to me that all Hillary supporters have this mindset. They don’t give a rat’s ass about her policies. They just want to, in some small way, be a part of history by voting for a woman president. The fact that Hillary Clinton is a neurotic mess doesn’t seem to make much of a difference to them.

My theory is: if I’m going to cast my vote for a woman president, I want to be damned sure that she’s going to kick some serious ass while she’s in office. I want to vote for a woman who is going to prove that she’s capable, intelligent, and an all around natural leader. When she’s done serving, I’d like the history books to say that she was one of the best leaders America has ever known. This is the only way we’ll ever see another woman president in the future. Hillary Clinton is totally incapable of producing these results.

With our luck, Hillary Clinton will get elected into office, flub everything up, embarrass herself and her gender and leave the history books musing, “Goddamn! What were we thinking when we elected a woman?”
